Tuesday 21st August 2018

Dr Martin Innes, from Ravenswood Surgery in Johnstone recently took on the world famous Tough Mudder 10-mile challenge, raising more than £1,700 for St. Vincent’s Hospice.

Alongside members of his family and a friend of his nephew, Dr Innes completed the infamous obstacle course which is best known for its muddy conditions and unusual challenges, specifically engineered to test endurance, teamwork and making its competitors face their fears.

Commenting on the donation, Chief Executive of St. Vincent’s Hospice, Kate Lennon, said: “We wish to say a big thank you and congratulations to Dr Innes and his family on completing the Tough Mudder. Our teams at St. Vincent’s work closely with the staff at Ravenswood Surgery, helping make sure that everyone who needs our services has all the information and support they need, when they need it.

“Knowing how many fantastic causes there are out there, we are truly humbled that Dr Innes undertook such an amazing challenge in support of St. Vincent’s. Donations like this are absolutely vital for allowing us to continue to offer the level of support and care that we do on a daily basis. On behalf of myself and the entire team, thank you!”

St. Vincent’s Hospice is a specialist provider of palliative and Hospice care for individuals and families affected by life limiting conditions from all across Renfrewshire. Commenting on the challenge, Dr Innes said: “After many, many, years of the practice working with the Hospice, they are always my first choice of charity. They play such a huge and important role in the community, and I am delighted to have been able to support them through the Tough Mudder Challenge.”
